UNIBEN Cutoff Marks for Various Programs
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) final score is the minimum score required for an applicant to enter a particular course or program.
Final grades are usually determined by JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) in collaboration with the university and are based on various factors such as the number of seats available, the number of qualified candidates, and the admission policy of the university.
UNIBEN cutoff marks for various programs vary by course, level and applicant category (e.g. UTME or DE).
For UTME candidates, UNIBEN has a general cutoff of 200 and above, but some faculties may have a higher cutoff.
For DE candidates, UNIBEN’s general cut-off is lower than UTME candidates and varies according to the course and level of study.
It is important to note that these are general numbers and the cut-off values may vary according to the course of study and the level of education. Applicants with a higher total score are generally deemed to have a better chance of acceptance.
It should also be noted that reaching the cut-off does not guarantee admission as the final selection of candidates is based on other factors such as academic performance, UTME scores, and O’-level results.
How To Calculate Your UNIBEN Aggregate Score to know the UNIBEN cutoff marks for various programs
It is easy to calculate the UNIBEN aggregate score by yourself, simply by following these steps:
DIVIDE YOUR JAMB SCORE BY 8, AND THEN BY 2 FOR YOUR POST-UTME SCORE. Then sum up the result to get your aggregate score.
That is to say: (JAMB SCORE/8) + (POST UTME SCORE/2) = AGGREGATE SCORE
For example:
A student called Osa scored 200 in his JAMB and also scored 60 in his Post-UTME. What is his aggregate score?
OSA’s JAMB SCORE = 200
OSA’s POST UTME SCORE = 60
AGGREGATE SCORE = (200/8) + (65/2)
= 25 + 30
AGGREGATE SCORE = 55 ANS,
This means that OSA is eligible to study any course with a total score below 55 according to the table above.
You can apply this to your JAMB and Post UTME scores to see where you stand.
N/B: It is very easy to get admission when one has met the required cut-off mark in a particular degree.
To save you stress and time, we have worked out the average score for all the courses studied at UNIBEN, You can see them in the table below:
