About Adeyemi College of Education

The Adeyemi College of Education is a federal government higher education institution located in Ondo City, Ondo State, Nigeria. It is affiliated with Obafemi Awolowo University for its degree programmes.

It was established in 1963 to produce qualified teachers to teach in secondary schools and teachers’ training colleges and to conduct research and experiments on methods of teaching at all levels of education in Nigeria.

It formally commenced operations on 22 May 1964 with 93 students, 24 women, and 69 men, and has metamorphosed into a first-class College of Education in Nigeria and in the West Africa sub-region.

Presently, it has five schools – Arts and Social Sciences, Education, Languages, Sciences, and Vocational and Technical Education – with a total of 28 academic departments. The College is a combination of the various institutions that sprang up in the sixties to cater to the development of Manpower in secondary schools and teacher training colleges in the Western region.

The college has a vision of being the reference point for teacher education in Nigeria by training her students in academic and moral standards of worldwide recognition. The college creates a conducive environment for learning for students and quality delivery of lectures for staff. The college is involved with some level of research.

 

The tuition is affordable and goes for less than 100,000. It varies depending on the academic program.

Admission into this college is very competitive and a lot of preparation must be done by the candidates.

Accommodation

Students who have secured accommodation would pay the following fees:

(i)      accommodation fee of Ninety Naira (N90.00) only;

(ii)     students who secure accommodation in Wande Abimbola Hall; Oba         Kiladejo and the former Health Centre (Aso Rock) would pay Ten Thousand   Naira (N10,000.00) only as Hall maintenance fee in addition to the ninety   naira (N90.00) in (i) above; and

(iii)    students who secure accommodation in other halls apart from the ones mentioned in (ii)     above will pay a sum of Eight Thousand (N8,000.00) naira as maintenance fee in addition to the ninety (N90.00) naira accommodation fees.

 

ACEONDO Cutoff Marks

The management of the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, has not released the UTME and Direct Entry departmental cut-off marks for the 2023/2024 academic session admission exercise. That of 2022 was 120 for NCE aspirants and 200 for Degree Aspirants.

 

ACEONDO Post UTME Admission Application Invitation

The College invites the following categories of candidates to obtain its Post-UTME Screening Form;

 

ACEONDO Additional UTME / DE Admission List

  1. Degree Programmes: UTME Candidates who scored a minimum of 200 marks

 

  1. Direct Entry (DE) Programmes: Candidates who possess a minimum of 7 points and at least one (1) Merit Pass in their course of study.

 

iii. NCE Programme: UTME Candidates who scored a minimum of 120 marks.

 

CANDIDATES SHOULD PLEASE NOTE:

  1. a) Candidates referred to above must have chosen Adeyemi College of Education, (ACE) Ondo as their institution of first Choice.

 

  1. Qualified candidates who did not make ACE, Ondo their Institution of first choice and are interested, are expected to change their institution of first choice to Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (Affiliated to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) for the Degree Programme and Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo for the NCE Programme before applying.

 

Direct Entry candidates are also required to submit hard copies of their NCE results and transcripts to the Division of Admissions and Academic Board in the College.

 

How to Apply for ACEONDO Post-UTME Screening

Candidates are to visit portal.aceondo.edu.ng to register for the screening exercise after the payment of a non-refundable fee of N2,000.00 via Etranzact or REMITA at any Commercial Bank. You can also pay online using your Debit or Credit card.

 

Thereafter, candidates will be required to do the following on the College’s portal after payment has been confirmed:

 

  1. Visit the school website or click here

 

  1. Fill out the online form correctly as editing will not be possible once the application form is submitted.

 

  1. Upload a clear passport photograph without eyeglasses or veil and not more than 50kb which must be JPEG.

 

  1. Upload your SSCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) and NCE results where applicable. Candidates are to meticulously provide their O’Level/NCE results (where applicable) on the portal. Any candidate that supplies wrong information may be prosecuted by Law Enforcement Agencies and his/her admission would be withdrawn.

 

  1. Ensure that all fields in the form are properly filled

 

  1. Cross-check your entries properly

 

  1. Submit your application form

 

  1. Print out the post-UTME screening slip

 

  1. Candidates whose O’Level Results are not ready should wait until their release before applying

 

  1. Candidates must upload their O’Level on JAMB Central Processing System CAPS.

 

Candidates considered prima-facia qualified would be contacted in due course.

Eligibility Criteria ACEONDO Post-UTME Screening

The College hereby invites the following categories of candidates for its Post UTME Screening Exercise:

 

For Degree Programmes: UTME candidates who scored a minimum of 200 marks

For Direct Entry (DE): Candidates who possess a minimum of 7 points and at least one (1) Merit Pass in their course of study.

For NCE Programmes: UTME Candidates who scored a minimum of 100 mark. Candidates with a pass in O/Level English or Mathematics who applied for Science, Arts, and Humanities courses are eligible to apply. However, candidates in this category are required to remedy the subjects before graduation.
