About Niger Delta University
Established in 2000, the Niger Delta University (NDU) is a Bayelsa State Government-funded university which is located on Wilberforce Island (an island of great historic significance) about 30 kilometers from Yenagoa – Bayelsa State capital.
It was established by Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, then governor of Bayelsa state.
It has two main campuses, one in the state capital, Yenagoa, which contains the law faculty, and the other in Amassoma. It also has its teaching hospital known as Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) in Okolobiri.
The university offers education at Bachelor, Masters, and PhD levels. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. It is accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC)[5]

Niger Delta University Acceptance Fee
How much is the Niger Delta University acceptance fee? NDU acceptance fee is N40,000 (forty thousand naira only) and is nonrefundable. The acceptance fee is a compulsory payment for all newly admitted students of the institution and it is not included in the school fees.
NDU Hostel Accommodation Fee
How much is the Niger Delta University hostel accommodation fee? NDU hostel fee is N15,000 (fifteen thousand naira only) per academic year. The hostel fee covers bed space and maintenance. Accommodations are available for all interested students per academic year.
Note
Late payment of NDU tuition fees for first-year students may either attract extra charges, inability to sit for a semester examination, or forfeit admission.
All freshers and old students are advised to pay the Niger Delta University school fees early at the designated banks nationwide. Payment of NDU fees 2023 should be made within the stipulated time given by the school.
NDU Cutoff Marks for the 2023/2024 Academic Session
The cutoff mark is the minimum score that any applicant who partook in the 2023 UTME examination is expected to surpass before being considered for admission by the institution.
The NDU cutoff mark for the 2023/2024 academic session is 160 and is the same for all courses. Merely making the score will, however, not guarantee any candidate an admission into the institution.
Therefore, all applicants are encouraged to make a higher score than the stipulated score of 160 that has been declared officially by JAMB.
NDU Departmental Cutoff Marks
The Departmental cutoff marks for NDU have not been declared for the 2023/2024 academic session. The cutoff marks that will provided will be that of the 2022/2023 academic session. The list is as follows

NDU Admission Requirements For 2023/2024
NDU Post-UTME Eligibility
- Candidates who score exactly or above the required cutoff mark.
- Candidates who chose Niger Delta University as their preferred choice of institution during the UTME Registration.
- Candidates are also required to obtain the required O’level credits for their programmes as specified in JAMB Brochure.
- Candidate must be at least 16 (Sixteen) of age
- Interested candidates who did not choose Niger Delta University During the UTME Registration and wish to study in the University, should change to the NDU via the JAMB website.
Below are the requirements for candidates who wish to gain admission into NDU through JAMB (UTME):
— A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of 2 sittings.
— You must choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your course. Check JAMB Brochure as well!
— Candidates must score at least 180 in the just concluded JAMB UTME examination to be offered admission into the Niger Delta University.
— You Must Participate in NDU POST UTME/SCREENING to be considered for admission if any for the year.
— Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
— Additional requirements might apply for some programmes and these can be viewed after selecting the Programme and entry-level at the school website when you are about to obtain the post-UTME form.
NDU Admission Requirements For Direct Entry (DE) 2023/2024
Below are the requirements for candidates who wish to gain admission into Niger Delta University NDU through Direct Entry:
— A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of 2 sittings.
— Candidates must have ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in two subjects that are related to their area of study.
— JUPEB/A’ Level passes in Related subjects.
— Degree (First Class/Second Class Upper) in related fields for your course of choice.
— Direct entry candidates are required to purchase the NDU Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) And NDU Portal.
— A minimum of Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), and other Advanced Level Certificates.
— Additional requirements might apply for some programmes and these can be viewed after selecting the Programme and entry-level at the school website when you are about to obtain the post-UTME form.
