Rhema University, Aba (RU) is an accredited private, Christian university based in the city of Aba in Abia State, Nigeria.
Founded by the Living Word Ministries International and licensed by the National Universities Commission in 2009 is one of the few private universities in Abia State. The university is currently operating from its take-off campus located at 153/155 Aba-Owerri Road, Aba in Abia State, with plans to develop and migrate its students and faculty to the permanent campus.
The history of the Rhema University can be traced back to 1987, when the president of the Living Word Ministries – Emmanuel Okorie, concerned by the falling standard of education in Nigeria, decided to address these problems with the setting up of nursery, primary and secondary schools in some states of Nigeria and Lome, Togo. This was part of the evangelistic outreach of the ministry. Given the statistics which show that the few places available for University admission are greatly oversubscribed in Nigeria, Living Word Ministries ventured into the area of tertiary education to provide Christian education in that academic level.
In 2004 the Living Word Ministries constituted a planning and Implementation Committee towards the realization of the project. In 2009 the university received its license to operate as a private university in Nigeria, and admitted its first cohort of students.

Rhema University Departmental Cut-Off Mark
Interested applicants are advised to note that, Rhema University does not make public her departmental cut-off mark for courses.
However, candidates who scored a minimum of 180 in the Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) are eligible to apply for admission into any of the available courses at Rhema University.
Kindly note that admissions into the Rhema University are a very competitive one, therefore interested applicants are advised to put in efforts in UTME as admissions are given based on how high a candidate scores in UTME.
Rhema University School Fees
The management of Rhema University has released the school fees for the 2023/2024 academic session for all students consisting of the fresh and returning students to be N465,000 ( Four Hundred and Sixty Five Thousand Naira ) only.
The management has strictly warned that the above amount of fees must be paid before academic activities resume fully and failure to pay in time will attract a penalty of an additional amount of money.

Rhema University Admission Requirements
Rhema University’s Admission Requirements For UTME And Direct Entry Candidates
- A) Rhema University Admission Requirements For UTME
To be eligible for admission to Rhema University, you must meet the following requirements:
You must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects at O’Level (WASSCE, NECO, GCE, or equivalent).
Rhema University cut-off points for the 2023/2024 Academic Session for UTME are 140 and above.
Candidates who have applied to other Universities and scored 140 and are interested in changing institutions to Rhema University are advised to do so.
You must have a good personal statement and letters of recommendation.
- B) Eligibility for Rhema University Direct Entry:
To qualify for the Rhema University Direct Entry, candidates must possess either an OND, HND, NCE, A-Level or a recognized diploma certificate from a reputable institution.
Additionally, candidates must have five credit passes in O’ Level subjects, including English and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
Candidates must also fulfill all O/level and DE requirements for the course of choice as advertised by JAMB.
